Saturday:
Two runs on the Lower Saint Francis with Joey Heger and Mike McFadden. Joined by the lovely Katie Shepherd for our first run. Low 20's on the paddler's gauge and dropping. Stuck a perfect wavewheel on the approach to Cat's Paw, then ran Z route direct. FABULOUS, though difficult surf at Double Drop. Went for the wavewheel both times in Rickety Rack. Succeeded but ended upside down and washed into the ledgehole at the bottom. Flushy the first time, but got absolutely thrashed the second...a very retentive little hole in the high teens. I was overdue.
Sunday:
17". Joined by my Dad! Joey and I just ran into him up at Millstream Gardens. Another great day on the water. Good lines through Cat's Paw and easier surf at Double Drop. Good spins at the Dam Breech. The good life for sure. Joey has all kinds of footage from the weekend, i'll see if I can't nab some from him.
